[edit] Notes on Step 2
Just to help fill things in, setting up TiddlyWiki on Ubuntu Linux and FireFox (2.0.0.11) required no extra steps. This was great! :) I'm using NoScript, so I had to 'temporarily allow file://' to let the JavaScript work, but no other setup was required. (As such, I don't think anything needs to be added to the actual article for this os/browser combination). If I have time I'll try setting it up on a Windows machine too. --Culix 17:27, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Using TiddlyWiki on Windows 2000 with FireFox (2.0.0.13) or with Internet Explorer 6 (6.0.2800.1106) posed no problems either. Just download, open in a browser, and start editing. --Culix 01:38, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Using TiddlyWiki on Windows XP Service Pack 2 - FireFox (2.0.0.13) loads the page fine and you can start editing right away. Using IE 7 (7.0.5730.11) does indeed pop up with a security warning - "If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer you may need to click on the yellow box above and select 'Allow Blocked Content'. You must then click 'Yes' on the following security warning." You can click on the yellow box and choose "Allow Blocked Content", as suggested, and things will work.
I can add some screenshots of the IE process to the Introduction page, but they would slow down the simple 'Step 2' section. Perhaps we could post them on a separate page and put a note that if you're using IE 7 on XP you'll need to allow TiddlyWiki. Or we could just put a quick note in Step 2 if we want to keep it small. The steps aren't hard.
Now we just need to test browsers on Vista and OSX. --Culix 02:08, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for this, Culix!
I think linking to a subpage dedicated to these issues (e.g. [[/Internet Explorer]]) would make sense.
